Love the Little Ones was founded by Jaime and Jennifer Allison in 2008 with a vision to make a difference in the lives of children locally and across the world by loving and serving them in meeting their economic and spiritual needs. Love the Little Ones began with a handful of people hosting birthday parties for children at a local Children’s Home, offering gifts, love, and building relationships with wonderful children. Various individuals volunteer their time, talents, and money to bless these children!

Christmas Blessings Abound!

It has been a fantastic holiday season and we are thrilled that Love the Little Ones had the opportunity to
adopt several local families this Christmas. Many people donated money and gifts so that these families could have a blessed Christmas morning. What an incredible feeling to be able to add value and love to others!

Thank you to all of you who donated money, time, and prayers. Let’s make 2013 even better as we continue
to join in love to give to those who are in need.

Keep in mind you can continue to make contributions online through Paypal or send in the mail.

Love Changes Things!

Love The Little Ones Supports Teal Diva, an Ovarian Cancer Non-Profit Organization.

Join Teal Diva at The Blake Hotel this Friday, October 26th from 9pm until 2am for a Teal Masquerade Halloween party for charity.  We are exposing a killer among women.  It’s a party you won’t want to miss.  We will be accepting donations at the door and throughout the night.

Teal Diva is a Charlotte based 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to celebrate the life of survivors and the sisters we have lost to gynecologic cancers.  Breast Cancer Awareness month is a great time to remind everyone to be aware of the symptoms of all women’s cancers.  If there is a family history of breast cancer, there can be a higher risk for developing ovarian cancer.  There is currently not an accurate screening test in place for ovarian cancer.  If caught in an early stage, the cure rate increases by 90%.  Sadly, the symptoms are often ‘masked’ by what, we as women, face on a monthly basis making it hard to detect and has given it the nickname, Silent Killer.  The primary beneficiary of our fundraising efforts goes towards research in finding an accurate screening test much like what the Pap smear provides for cervical cancer.

We chose the theme of a Masquerade because let’s face it; no one likes to talk about ovaries…not in public, anyway.  Unlike the breasts, they are not visible; they can be a personal and/or embarrassing topic.  We thought an event like a Masquerade would create a fun atmosphere to get people talking about ovaries and create an opportunity to learn the symptoms associated with the disease.

There will be a DJ, photographed red carpet entrance, no cover, free parking, a 50/50 raffle and prizes awarded for best mask and/or mask & costume combo.  We will be accepting donations throughout the night.

Huge Success For Back To School Event

The back to school event for the girls at the Children’s Home was a big hit. A huge thanks to Natasha Miller and all of the ladies at Bliss Beauty Lounge located at 32 Union St S Concord 28025 . They volunteered their time, love, encouragement, inspiration and phenomenal beauty skills to make these girls feel so special and gorgeous. Also a big thanks to Sunny Hutchinson owner of Themba Imagery for doing the photo shoot! I just received the dvd in the mail. I hope to be able to get these girls some prints soon.

The Children’s Home is having their annual Harvest Festival on Saturday October 6th from 10am to 2pm. They are looking for a photographer who would like to take random pictures of the events. They want a volunteer. You can set up a table or booth and promote your business. They are expecting between 600 and 700 people to attend. They would also love to have someone to face paint and do balloons for the children. You can set up a tip jar, book future outings, give out business cards, etc. If there is anything else that anyone would like to offer then please let me know!! They do want volunteers, but it’s an excellent opportunity to get your advertising for your business since there will be a big number in attendance.

Lastly, we have two birthdays coming up. S. is turning 9 and B. is turning 14. We are going to have a birthday party for them on Sunday September 30th starting with the girls at 1:30pm. I don’t have their wish lists yet. I will get them out to you as soon as I receive them. Please feel free to join us.

If you would like to help Love the Little Ones in ANY way, then please feel free to contact me via email or call me at 704-467-4111. We really do need some support. We are extremely low on funds and participation over the last few months. I know that summer is busy so I am hopeful that we can have a strong fall season J If you feel like giving back to the community then here is a wonderful way to do it. If you would like to make any type of donation you can mail to 48 Manor Ave SW Concord NC 28025 (Love the Little Ones) or simply click on the donate button.
